We have Japanese Drums, Polynesian Dance, Mauritius Dance, Geisha(Kimono or a long piece of Japanese traditional outer clothing), etc as club activities, each of which had been suggested and operated by a leading group of youths.
I was in Japanese Drums club. Although many people including myself had never played them, we were getting better and better at Japanese Drums owing to the enthusiasm of its organizing youths. "Ha-choi-sa!" and "Esa Esa Esa Esa" thrived to be our favorite phrases and we cheered up with these words every now and then especially after the club activities. I believe that many club members remember these phrases for a long time, maybe forever :) as a good memory. We danced and played a theme titled "Mai" (Dancing) in Exhibition at the end of Program.
I practiced Japanese Drums very hard and I learned to be fond of them very much. I was always looking forward to playing them on the ship. Playing the instruments was something I found about my own country in this program. Since we didn't have much facility to exercise with on board, playing drums was a good exercise as well.
Each delegation presents their country for one hour in various ways; playing, dancing, playing music from their country, introducing their culture. JPYs did a play introducing our culture and history from Heian-Period(8th century), Sengoku-Period(15-17th), Bunmei-Kaika(19th) to Present.
