A plenty of volunteer activities were planned and taken into practice, besides official activities. For instance, Soran Dance, Group Meditation, Sexuality Seminar, Facilitation Session, Kapoera, Street Dance, Party by each delegation. At delegation's party we were served with their county's snacks and drinks including alcohol, while at some parties, i.e. by Bahrain delegation, alcohol was not with us because of their religious reason.
I organized a discussion on "What Does Silence Mean?", UNICEF Donation, Mission Speak-up!, and Team Internet.
We discussed an essay titled "What Does Silence Mean?" by Kay Heatherly(PDF Appendix-2). The number of participants are not so many, but still the discussion was interesting. I feel that silence meant agreement on the ship.
A brief visit at a school in an Indian village triggered my UNICEF donation activity. Children in the school were very poor and I would like to do something for them. From another point of view, we were encouraged to do something visible to achieve "youth patricipation in this society" as our course discussions' common theme proposes. I assumed that at every port of call we would not spend every penny of local money and we would have some changes left which would be almost useless unless you were living in the country.
I tried to collect money after every port of call including Singapore; 4 times overall, each in a local currency. Fortunately lots of PYs supported my activity. The total money collected is in the table below. When I handed in the donation to UNICEF, I got a thank-you letter(Appendix-3 in PDF) from them.
