Nationalities of Students in Semmelweis University
Sorce of Information: Orientation for 1st year students 2015/2016.
Comments:
- There are many Iranians and Norweigians, 20%(75 students) and 16%(60) respectively. As combined, more than 1/3 (36%) are either Iranians or Norweigians in Semmelweis 1st year students.
- For Iranians, there are many in dentistry and pharmacy, in case of Pecs. I guess there is the same tendency here in Semmelweis because I don't see so many Iranians in our class of general medicine, meaning there should be many in other faculties.
- For Norweigians, on the contrary, there are many in general medicine and not many in other than general medicine, in Pecs. There is the same tendency here in Budapest because I see many Norweigians in our class of general medicine. (but I don't know there are not many Norweigian students in other faculties.)
- Now 3rd ranked is Japanese. I never expected this number. I heard there is 19 in Pecs this year, too, although there are only 6 last year. Thus the number increased dramatically. The reason is, I guess, that graduates are starting to pass the Japanese national exam and become licensed as doctors in recent years, and that is how the number has increased.
- Ranked 8th and 9th are the US and Canada. Compared to this, there are much less students from North America in Pecs.
- There are 373 students for registered first year students in Semmelweis.(see detail below.)
- These Students are from 46 countries. (see detail below)
- This diversity is awesome!, which I can not expect if I study medicine in Japan.
Compared to Pecs.
- thare are many Iranians and Norweigians in Pecs, too.
- Not this thorough list, but still nationalities of Students in Pecs.
