The 1 year old patient has congenital cataract. The surgeon said she did not know etiology(the cause). It may be maternal infection during pregnancy; eg. Rubella, Measles, because she had not taken MMR vaccinations. It could be idiopathic.

This is after IOL(intra-Ocular Lens) implantation.
See the capsule was opened and the oval-shaped edge is clearly visible.
Also lens is, thus, crystal clear now.
