PenDrive Team(manufacturer) C141 32GB broken

Summary:My PenDrive C141 has been broken. I tried to fix it like I did for my ADATA pendrive, without success. I contacted with customer service of Team co. ltd. But they said they don't have a fixing tool like ADATA has. They said I need to send the broken pendrive to Taiwan to exchange a new one.

It was good since it has a LED lamp, which shows accesses to the drive. But it seems it is a slow drive for Ubuntu.

Team Group C141 PenDrive 32GB.

  1. how it was broken
  2. team c141 pendrive is broken. I was installing ubuntu on the drive and it was done, although it is very slow. It took 5 hours.

Reboot was also slow. After booting it is extremely slow thus I needed to shutdown by power button, not a proper way of shutdown.

It broke ext4 file system. It does not boot again. I needed to run fsck, which is also extremely slow so that I needed to shut it down in the unproper way.

That seems to break the pendrive. It is never recognized. Try gparted on ubuntu and Windows. ubuntu does not assign /dev/sd*, thus gparted does not show any disk. Windows assign E drive but it says there is no media, insert one.

  3. How I try to fix it.

I contacted with Ateam customer support. They are generally kind and respond quick enough. They replied in two days. I had an experience in ADATA so I mentioned it and suggested a HP format tool. It does not recognize the disk, only it says 0MB in E drive.

They said I need to send the pendrive to Taiwan to replace it, which costs more than buying a new one. This is the end of my exploration to fix it.
