My Ubuntu slowed down, while the disk usage went up. The disk usage was 10GB out of 16GB. To speed it up, I bought a new 64GB usb 3.0 stick. It was successful and Ubuntu now runs smoothly like new.
Old | New | |
---|---|---|
USB | 2.0 | 3.0 |
Disk Size | 16GB | 32GB |
Note: 32GB out of 64GB is assigned for Ubuntu 18.04.
The ubuntu system has been used for web page development. It slowed down when firefox and opera was being run, because they consume memory. Work-load by "w" command went as high as 12.00, now it goes only to 2.00. If workload goes to 12.00, no response comes when you switch windows.
